Notable Sector Deals: October 2024


Acquisition of OH Services by Latus Group


  • A highly complementary deal for Latus Group, with the addition of bespoke medical assessment provider OH Services

  • Based in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, OH Services provides occupational health services alongside industry-specific medical assessments for the oil & gas and maritime sectors

  • Through this addition, Latus will broaden its medical expertise, while also furthering its geographical reach

  • The deal is the first for Latus following its investment from NorthEdge earlier this year, with further acquisitions expected going forward


Huma‘s acquisition of eConsult


  • Global healthcare AI business Huma has acquired UK-based digital triage provider eConsult

  • One of the UK’s largest digital triage providers, eConsult also offers automated consultation platforms across primary and emergency care

  • The acquisition follows the recent addition of iPlato, and will bring Huma closer to its mission to accelerate the adoption of digital solutions across healthcare

  • Digital health platforms of this nature continue to be a hotspot of interest for acquirers and investors, as the NHS looks to utilise technology to create efficiencies for an overburdened workforce


Examworks acquisition of Unity Health Group


  • A successful acquisition of Unity Health Group for medico-legal service provider Examworks

  • Joined together in 2017, Unity Health Group consists of Pure Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Direct and MLAS

  • With its diversified portfolio, Unity Health Group employs over 500 people, supporting healthcare providers and insurers with rehab, pain management and medical-expert admin services

  • The deal follows the acquisition of Enable Therapy Services by Examworks earlier this year, showing sustained acquirer interest in the rehabilitation market


Acquisition of HD Clinical by Nexus


  • An interesting deal for German healthcare software corporate, Nexus, with the acquisition of digital clinical solutions provider HD Clinical

  • With c.140 organisations globally using its solutions, HD Clinical delivers digital clinical solutions with a focus on endoscopy and cardiology provision

  • HD Clinical has seen significant expansion to its market position in recent months, with its software chosen on an NHS Scotland and HSE Ireland tender

  • The deal will consolidate Nexus’ position as a leading provider of innovative endoscopy and cardiology diagnostic solutions

  • This has been followed by an offer from private equity firm TA Associates to take Nexus private at a valuation premium of 44%
